DOI: 10.1177/136346099002004008 Proposals for CommunityRobert Crouch's statement raises key questions concerning the production and reception of sculpture as queer. Crouch focuses on the significance of the gaze, dialogue and performance in structuring the relationship between object and audience, and the implications that this has for our understanding of community and identity. Crouch does not provide a single way of reading his work, but encourages us to participate in the creation of imagined and performative community.
